Adverbs and Prepositions of Time
Adverbs of time indicate when something happened or will happen. Examples include “now”, “soon”, “yesterday”, “tomorrow”. Prepositions of time indicate the relationship between two points in time. Examples include “before”, “after”, “during”, “by”. Adverbs of time can be used with or without prepositions of time. For example, you can say “I will see you tomorrow” (using an adverb of time) or “I will see you by tomorrow” (using an adverb of time and a preposition of time).
